Transmute crystals are very valuable, they’re primarily used to reconstruct gear, or to change the traits of already existing pieces. But did you know you could also use them to make a lot of gold? It’s not a direct conversion of course, it’s about extracting valuable materials from crafted items that you can then sell to other players with the help of a trading guild. You just have to have a character that could be classified as a crafter, one specific researched trait, and one slottable champion point. And as many crystals as possible.
What you’ll need:
I usually like to craft either Maple Bows or Iron Axes (level 1 woodworking and blacksmithing weapons, respectively). It comes down to personal preference and whichever crafting station is closest, it doesn’t affect the end results. The only thing that matters is that you craft weapons that don’t have any traits. If you’d like to use 250 of your crystals, then craft 5 weapons. Make 10 weapons if you’re willing to use 500 in total (this is what I usually go with).
Then go to a Transmute Station, and change the trait of each weapon to Nirnhoned, one by one. This will cost 50 crystals per item, so if you made 10 weapons, the total will be 500 Transmute Crystals.
Note: This screenshot was taken during a crafting event, that’s why it says it’ll only cost me 25 crystals to change the trait of that one weapon. Normally it’s 50.
Once all the weapons have the Nirnhoned trait, we have to deconstruct them. Slot the Meticulous Disassembly champion point, go back to a crafting station (in my case it was the woodworking table), and select every single transmuted weapon, so that they’re all deconstructed at the same time.
20 Maple Bows that I transmuted to the Nirnhoned trait gave me this after deconstruction:
And 15 Potent Nirncrux equals about 1.3 million – 1.4 million gold on the PC/NA megaserver. The only “investment” that was necessary for this method was researching the trait itself, which required 1 Potent Nirncrux (roughly 90,000 gold).
Thank you so much for checking out my Transmute crystals to gold guide, I hope it serves you well! Let me know if you have any questions, either in our Discord server, or on Twitch when Iām live! Have a nice day!
